About the Band

Fox Green write and record original songs of impatience, humor, and duende in the post-everything era. Based in Central Arkansas, band members are refugees from Ho-Hum, Boondogs, The Scuffs, Rouxster, and Sex Hormone Bondage Puppy. Their musical influences span the past century of American semipopular music without exactly being alt-anything. Fox Green is a band caught between the land of opportunity and a natural state, and they are doing their best to deal with that. Their first album, 2020’s The Longest April, made many year-end top 10 lists. Their most recent album, Holy Souls, released summer of 2022, chronicles characters of our moment and the tough times they face.

Origins

We are Arkansan musicians who are committed to making great music. Wade Derden, who writes, plays guitar, and sings, has recorded as Rouxster and with other Arkansas bands. Drummer Dave Hoffpauir has toured internationally with Universal recording artist Ho Hum. Jay Gentry (bass), Cam Patterson (stringed instruments and songwriting), and Gaines Fricke (keyboards) round out the band. The Longest April and Holy Souls were recorded, mixed and mastered by Jason Weinheimer (another Ho Hum refugee who also helps out with bass and keyboards sometimes) at renowned Fellowship Hall Sound in Little Rock Arkansas, and produced by Patterson, Derden, and Weinheimer.
